“The lecture was delivered on June 9, I938 under the title ‘The Founding of the Modern World Picture by Metaphysics’. It was the last of a series of lectures on the foundations of the world picture of modernity, organized by the art-historical, scientific, and medical societies of Freiburg. The Appendices were written at the same time but not delivered.”

- Martin Heidegger -

This lecture offers insight into Heidegger’s thinking in the late 1930’s and deals with topics that he will focus on in his work in the 1950’s like the famous lecture on the question concerning technology. We will read and discuss the text together while also paying attention to the context of this lecture on Heidegger’s way of thinking.
